DSL Internet Access

Central Oregon Telecom DSL is a very high-speed connection that uses the same wires as a regular telephone line. A standard telephone installation consists of a pair of copper wires installed by Central Oregon Telecom to your business. The copper wires have lots of room for carrying more than your phone conversations -- they are capable of handling a much greater bandwidth, or range of frequencies, than that demanded for voice. DSL optimizes this extra capacity to carry information on the wire without disturbing the line's ability to carry conversations.

  • Central Oregon Telecom DSL service uses equipment in the Qwest Central Office which utilizes a part of a standard telephone line to carry data at high speeds. This means that the service allows voice, fax or any other use of the telephone line at the same time as it is being used for high-speed data. The cost of the telephone line is not included in these rates.

If on-site installation is required and it is determined there were no problems with the connection or the modem, you will be charged $80/hour with a minimum 30-minute charge.
